Love Chooses Life

How many times in recent months have you wondered, “Where are we going as a nation?” Has the thought ever occurred to you that we are missing something vital? From what I see, there is something deeply wrong with the way we think. We minimize, discredit, and deceive ourselves regarding how we treat life.

If only we would pause for a moment to receive the truth. If only we would take a breath, and listen to the sweet whispers of love from our Father — how different this world would be! Conversations about taking innocent lives would not even exist.

We must step back and envision a life of love, remembering that there are real human beings behind every word that spills out, carrying the power to give life or death. We don’t have to strike someone physically to destroy them; our words of hate and division wound up every day. Is there a time coming when we will return to living in true community with one another? Does a moment exist where we forgive one another and carry each other’s burdens, as the Word commands us? Can we forgive ourselves? Jesus came that we may have life and have it to the fullest — yet so often we refuse it.

Until we begin to live a life of love as God intended, I am afraid that we will never have the capacity to fulfill all that He is calling us to.

We are not loving people when we support making life optional. Love chooses life.
